Giorgos Costelenos

George Kostelenos was born in 1963, in Galatas, Troizinia, coming from a farming family.
He commenced his studies at the Agronomy Faculty of the University of Pisa, Italy and continued at the Agricultural Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he graduated in 1988.


From the mid-nineties he started working on the production of olive propagation material.
His occupation with olive trees is not limited to the production of propagation material but also extends in the research, study, propagation and saving of the Greek olive varieties.
He has created in his nursery in Troizinia one of the largest collections of olive tree varieties in the world, consisting of about 100 Greek and 140 foreign varieties.
He has authored many articles, mostly on Olive trees, their growing and the development capabilities of the sector in Greece.
